Kanin ski and snowboard resort is is one of the highest in Slovenia and an important stop on the BoardnLodge Tour of Slovenia.; it lies above the tree-line in a real alpine atmosphere. Due to the altitude, the pistes seldom freeze and offer the pleasure of skiing on dry snow during most of the winter; the off piste is also fantastic. Kanin also gets the sun and has a magnificent view into the heart of the Julian Alps, towards the Mediterranean. When the visibility is good one can even count the ships in the Bay of Trieste. Transfer from Trieste airport to Boardnlodge Ljubljana accommodation is 1 hr 30 minutes.
